Lovely Day consists of two paintings that go together as a Diptych. Or – if you prefer or have only space for one – both Lovely Day West and Lovely Day East can stand alone as a single painting. That’s the way each artwork is designed to work flexibly either way.
Lovely Day East has a magical pathway which leads the viewer into a mystical water-world. A sunbeam shines through and casts light onto sea roses. It reminds mea little of diving in tropical waters or dreaming in the sunshine whilst visiting seashore gardens. Talking of seashore gardens – if you ever have the chance to visit Cornwall in the South West of England – I can really recommend a visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan – a magical place and one of the most loved gardens in England. I knew when I visited there some years back – the impact of the gardens would stay with me for ever and I am sure those memories come to play here.
