Delighted to release the first 5 new paintings in my new Highland Series. Inspired by travels across Scotland and my life long love of Highland Cows ….. the two come together in this new Series. Which one will be your favorite? Lets start with these two sweeties.
It had been a long time since I last visited Inverness and perhaps 25 years or more since I last made that epic train journey from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh. A journey with some of the most stunning scenery in the Highlands. Close to Plockton on the shores of Loch Carron there is a field of Highland Coos. I could not resist to capture these in two separate paintings which have the possibility to go together side by side. For an up close and deeper look at the paintings and the inspiring story behind them click here for Maggie & Marg and here for Erich, Emma and Little Ted.
The reaction from people seeing these two paintings encouraged me to offer the two images as the first of a new ‘wee mini’ range. The prints are packaged up in high quality dinky little tubes. Perfect for a gift or souvenir perhaps. They might be just the thing to take back home for the grandchildren. The prints have been sized so that they fit perfectly into standard photo or art frames with a mount opening of either 20 x 30 cm or if you prefer inches then its 8 x 12.
For those with a bigger wall to fill there are 40 x 50 cm high quality giclee prints. There are a range of standard frames available at this size too or you prefer to get the help of your local picture framer to make a frame that fits with your personal room color scheme and decor.
If you are in one of the most famous streets in the world – Edinburgh’s Royal Mile – why not pop into Mrs Macintyres cafe opposite John Knox’s house in the Royal Mile. Caroline has a stock of wee minis there as well as well as lots of eat treats.
